In R&D IT we are focussed on supporting our highly skilled scientists in our labs who experiment and support complex drug projects and several other business stakeholders to manage Clinical trials, regulatory submissions and Patient Safety processes. The environment is driven by scientific and technical innovation with a high level of diversity in workflows, data and vendors. Equally we are focused on ensuring the upkeep of our critical systems that allow uninterrupted flow of work for our R&D teams, while maintaining the quality of service in line with enterprise ITSM standards.
About the role
The role will be responsible for ensuring adherence to some of the key mandates in line with enterprise ITSM standards and key objectives. The role will cut across multiple value streams within the R&D IT value chain and will be responsible for meeting all vital health parameters of the overall service mandates for R&D IT.
Key responsibilities
Ongoing review of processes and SLAs, influencing modifications and enhancements of services (both internal and supplier); run lean operations
Ensure adoption of ATS processes while taking newer scope of systems into BAU
Maintain on or above-target performance on key service performance indicators such as CMDB updates, KBA articles upkeep, CSAT scores etc.
Continuously plan, track and monitor Tech debt of estate; work closely with the OSMs and architects to chalk remediation plans and ensure tracking to the plan
Ensure R&D IT estate meets the version and patching requirements of softwares / servers in the enterprise
Enable cross sharing of lessons learnt across Value Streams
Drive weekly checkpoint reviews with key service stakeholders
Enable streamlining the licencing process and optimizing the YoY costs for licenses
Define, implement and own the vendor management process
Essential skills required
10+ years of experience in managing applications and infrastructure
Knowledge and experience in SharePoint Online, MS Project Online, MS Office tools
Consistent track record of working experience across different technology stack ranging for COTs, Cloud based SaaS vs On-prem
Good understanding of custom vs cloud hosted IT solutions
Experience working with the global teams to deliver and support IT solutions
Maintained program objectives, success measurements or key performance indicators (KPIs).
Familiarity with release planning, patching and maintenance cycles
Experience working with JIRA, Service Now and Automated Testing tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence, CI CD tools)
Ability to communicate and present to senior leadership: proficiency in partner buy in, strong multi-functional communication, organizational navigation, building rapport across functions and levels of management.
Desired skills:
Exposure to DevOps ways of working
Familiarity with GxP processes
Worked in a Pharma or healthcare setting
Familiarity with common SAFe Agile practices, service-oriented environments
Education requirements
Any Bachelor’s / Master’s degree.
