Job summary

As a Software Engineer III in the Markets Client Portal team of the Corporate & Investment Banking business at JPMorgan Chase, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Delivers Strategic solutions, Complex architectures, Full stack implementations, Technology design approaches and de-risking PoCs, Vendor analysis, Gap identification and creation of services/features in a hybrid private/public cloud environment
• Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Full Stack experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript & React to build complex web applications
• Understanding of software engineering concepts and formal applied experience of OO and functional programming paradigms
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Understanding and experience of agile methodologies

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern web technologies
• Exposure to working with UX and Visual Design teams
• Experience with AWS Public Cloud Services
