The GFT EMEA Finance Technology team is responsible for the Development/ Maintenance of a Data Acquisition platform, which caters to the data demands including certain critical sub ledger functions of EMEA Finance Stakeholders and various Downstream Partner Systems that consume the data for the purpose of Local Regulatory Reporting, Management Reporting, Risk Reporting, and Liquidity Reporting. The team works closely with Country Finance businesses located across Europe Middle East and Africa besides the Operations team located in Manila, Budapest and India.

IT Business Sr. Analyst – Pune – C12/AVP (R22014716)

The purpose of this role is to define business and functional requirements for a Data Acquisition Platform and advice consumers on data acquisition and financial calculation besides other potential alternatives. This involves working closely with the SME, prioritizing business requirements, providing effort estimates, ensuring timely delivery of committed items and managing the work slate. Additionally this role also involves Project Management of all aspects of a software development project as per the guidelines laid out by Citi program management council.

Responsibilities:
Define Business and functional requirements and produce the Business requirement document through partnership with decision makers, systems owners and end users.

Plan and manage the book of work and maintain the project artefacts in Citi Project Tracking System workspace.

Analyse business processes, gaps in capabilities, as well as appropriate data sources, interfaces and process changes required to address capability gaps.

Work closely with Cross Functional/ Sector Teams e.g., Program Management Leads, Product Assurance / QA Leads, Platforms and Infrastructure, Business Office and Global Production Assurance teams.

Prepare handover documents and coordinate SIT / UAT Implementations.

Identify and proactively resolve issues that could affect the system performance, reliability, and usability.

Generate and compile reports based on findings, including probable causes and potential solutions to systems issues

Provide advice and counsel related to technology or operations of the business, ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards

Work proactively & independently to address the Business Requirements and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to address the risks.

Ability to understand complex data problems, analyse and provide generic solutions compatible with the existing Infrastructure.

Explore existing Application architecture; determine areas of complexity and potential risks to successful implementation.

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Ability to build relationship with business and Tech stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Bachelor/ Master’s degree in Computer Sciences /Engineering or related discipline.

Certification in areas of Business Analysis (CBAP or equivalent)/Scrum Master (CSM) would be an advantage.

Critical Competencies:
9+ years’ experience in IT Business Analysis of which at least 3+ years’ of experience in top tier banks / Finance IT industry is necessary.

Strong knowledge of ETL methodology and experience in Ab >Initio tool kit (GDE, Control Centre, EME) / Other ETL tool would be an advantage.

Strong knowledge of working with data – data warehousing, data analysis, database design, data profiling, query optimization.

Ability to write SQL queries required to investigate data issues and analyse legacy data.

Knowledge of UNIX required to investigate data issues and analyse legacy data.

Good understanding of Finance data flows and Finance applications within a large bank / Financial Institution.

Excellent communication and internal customer management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
