We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the HSBC Technology and Services – India Software Delivery team.
Principal Responsibilities
The jobholder is responsible for managing End to End IT Delivery for Global Payments Solutions (GPS) by working very closely with GPS Leadership.
The responsibilities span across several development activities managing multiple facets of GPS, including the Digital Journeys, Cash Management and Payment solutions.
The position heads and manages teams of Development Managers and Individual Contributors performing system development work and system analysis.
This includes both the development of new functions and facilities and the on-going systems support of live systems.
The teams will include Developers and in some cases other Individual Contributors such as Development Specialists, Project Managers, Relationship Managers, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Test Specialists and/or Consultants.
Strong Tie up with Local and Regional ITID Teams for ensuring timely availability of infrastructure for Business demands/ Project demands.
The jobholder has to ensure that systems delivered, usually in large scale, meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget to an agreed level of quality. He/she sets up work practices, implement standards and quality monitoring in IT, during development, implementation and daily use.
The job holder will assist the business to execute business strategy from a technology perspective.
The job holder will represent IT in all Risk/FCC/COO/Business Forums/Regional IT forums.
The majority of the challenges faced by the job holder are of a technical or project management nature. They are mostly related to application systems.
Managing and Strengthening Regulatory Relations (RBI/NPCI/IDRBT/MeitY etc) along with Compliance for IT matters
Nurturing Talent and Acting as Mentor to the immediate reporting team
Close Alignment to Industry, Fintechs and IT Start-ups to help HSBC early adopters of disrupting technologies
Requirements
Engineering Background (MBA from premier institute will be an advantage)
18 +years of work experience related to the banking and financial services organization
Relevant experience in participating in or managing complex IT change initiatives / projects, with specific experience in Payments is a must.
Strong communication, negotiation / influencing and presentation skills
Excellent people management and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle crisis situations and take appropriate / timely decisions
Ability to work well under pressure with high degree of accuracy
Self-driven
Project management experience and proven ability to coordinate initiatives
Have sound exposure in dealing with IT vendors
Experience of working within a matrix environment preferred
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels
Leadership with confidence and an ability to inspire others – capable of leading and motivating a team of high calibre individuals into new challenges
Strong team working ethic- actively contributes to the team, leading by example. Helps to maintain a co-operative, conscientious and customer focused environment
Self-Motivated and having the ability to work in a highly challenging environment
Additional Information
Minimum Graduation or as required for the role, whichever is higher
Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
