Responsibilities:
Installation and troubleshooting of networking hardware to include Routers, Switches, Firewalls for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems. Coordinate special projects related to LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
Installation and troubleshooting of network hardware including Cisco switches, firewalls, and IDS/IPS systems.
Administration of Cisco data centre network utilizing Nexus switching platforms in ACI environments.
Coordination of special projects related to LAN/WAN and IPT hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
Maintenance and management of Cisco Prime Infrastructure, to include setup of new sites, syslog/fault monitoring, image/ios backups and change management.
Network access control utilizing for distributed wireless and wired networks.
Network health monitoring utilizing industry leading technologies.
Discover, design, plan, and implement next-generation networks using the latest technology and network automation.
Follow life-cycle oriented processes and procedures.
Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems.
Create and execute test plans to meet project requirements for assigned components.
Assist in the configuration and deployment of core and peripheral network devices, which will require continuous learning of new devices (i.e., Nexus switches, ASR routers, and long-haul optical equipment).
Proactive monitoring of all network devices, services, and servers using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLAs.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies.
Research, evaluate and recommend technologies to support business requirements.
Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures.
Collaborate with and support the work of other staff engaged in similar functions
Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings.
Coordinate with the rest of the MIS team to meet the team objectives.
Provide emergency 24 x 7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Any combination of education and training equivalent to possession of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information engineering or other related areas; such education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform responsibilities listed.
Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in a distributed network environment.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required, (Cisco Certified Network professional (CCNP) preferred).
Experience with software defined networking (SDN/SDWAN) in a Meraki environment.
Experience with Cisco ISE or other Network Access Control Methodology is preferred.
Experience with Cisco APIC, ACI and VXLAN, and Nexus switching platforms is required.
Fluent with Design and Implementation of Cisco networking technologies, including the following: Cisco ACI, advanced switching, routing, and firewall technologies.
Knowledge of Cisco network equipment including: Cisco Nexus 9000 / 5000 series of Data Centre switches running NX-OS, Cisco ISR Routers, Firepower/Threat Defence Firewalls.
Knowledge of network/internet Protocols/Services such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VXLAN, LACP, DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, SIP, QoS.
Knowledge on SonicWall firewall
Knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless networks and be able to resolve connectivity, interference, authentication and coverage issues.
Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to demonstrate solid attention to detail.
History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
