Installing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, servers, operating systems, printers, scanners, LAN, Wi-Fi etc.
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks. Repairing or replacing equipments as necessary.
Responding to support requests and providing technical support to clients in a timely manner (this may be in person or over the phone).
Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, including account setup and network configuration.
Contacting clients to find out the nature of the problem.
Traveling to the client’s location for troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Following through on resolving computer system issues within the specified time frame.
Properly escalating unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams.
Providing prompt and accurate feedback to customers.
Ensuring all issues are properly logged. Prioritizing and managing several open issues at one time.
Following up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting.
Preparing accurate and timely reports.
Documenting technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals.
Maintaining jovial relationships with clients.
Requirements and skills
2-3 years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role.
Experience in working with customers either face to face or remotely.
Hands-on experience with Windows and Mac OS environments.
Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products.
Strong knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications and networking.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic and complex hardware and software issues.
Ability to travel and work after hours when necessary.
Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal.
