What will you be responsible for?
Architect, implement and monitor the enterprise-wide IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Program.
Design and implement a coordinated IT DR approach that applies operating controls to manage information security risks.
Develop policies, procedures, processes, standards, and guidelines for the IT DR Program. This will include contributing to the Internal Controls framework and buy in with Risk Management policies.
Collaborate with stakeholders (e. g. Senior Leadership, Strategic Business Units, IT, System Owners) to ensure a consistent process for scoping, assessing, strategizing, and planning for IT DR.
Guide the IT teams in designing, implementing and maintaining their IT control environment and continuity plans.
Assess DR solution capabilities and relationships with HPE and/or 3rd parties and provide recommendations for improved resiliency.
Evaluate and assess adequacy of current DR strategies and solutions to identify risks and recommend improvements.
Assist with driving DR strategies for emerging technology areas.
Apprise and keep up to date the executive management on the current state of the DR Program.
Provide and support the implementation of IT DR initiatives globally.
Represent in various Internal and External Audit interviews.
Influence decisions in partnership with Program leadership to ensure work toward common objectives.
Provide responsive leadership to delegate, coordinate, and motivate staff; evaluate performance for direct reports and for contractors/other peoples’ direct reports; work with individuals and HR to improve performance as needed.
Assume responsibility for IT DR teams of up to 5 caregivers.
Maintain updated knowledge in the field of Risk Management and Compliance to efficiently work on frameworks including NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27000, etc.
Remain current with industry best practices and monitor the legal and regulatory environment for developments.
What would your day look like?
Author and drive implementation of framework, policies, standards, and other IT DR requirements.
Collaborate with business functions for effective IT resiliency.
Lead a team of IT DR Analysts/Specialists for organization level IT DR Program.
Manage IT DR activities including Business Impact Assessments, Risk Assessments, DR Strategy and Plan Development, Testing, Governance and Assurance.
Provide technical leadership and recommendation on how to improve the DR Program procedures to streamline processes.
Support IT resiliency as needed to ensure systems work and do not break when changes are made to production.
Minimize risk and business impact when interruptions occur.
Consult with IT teams to align IT resiliency strategies with enterprise architecture solutions, representing multiple platforms, services, or tools.
Consult with IT teams on continuity planning, testing and maintenance to ensure an appropriate level of resilience and recovery capability is retained.
Provide recommendations for back-up processes and fail-over procedures.
Consult and advise HPE teams as they perform analysis on DR architecture to ensure adherence to Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
Drive DR testing methodologies; assist with the execution of testing and exercises.
Assist with the validation of Technical Recovery Plans and/or documentation.
Assist IT incident management in the event of an IT disaster.
Support management and update of all IT continuity plans for business-critical processes
Follow up, track, analyze and report on organization-wide IT DR maturity.
Regularly collaborate with business leaders, application and product owners to evaluate IT resiliency needs and impacts of IT DR decisions on business processes as well as to communicate risks.
Contribute to governance and facilitate remediation recommendations of related risks, deficiencies, gaps or issues.
Engage and organize the assignment of activities of multi-functional, large-scale teams, as well as the project estimates, task dependencies and schedule.
Who are we looking for?
4-year University (Bachelor’s) degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in an Information Security/GRC role.
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Disaster Recovery management role.
Preferred 3 years of experience in Healthcare, Pharma or Bio-Technology organization.
Strong problem solving, analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills; demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, data, and technical details with desired business outcomes, and produce sound analysis and recommendations.
Comprehensive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in IT Disaster Recovery and Contingency Planning.
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical individuals at any level.
Adaptable to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Able to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
Ability to lead a team and collaborate with other leaders throughout the organization.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Working knowledge of a BC/DR management tool, such as Archer or ServiceNow.
Preferred working knowledge of BC/DR standards (ISO/IEC 27031, NIST SP 800-34).
