Job Summary:
As an IT employee, you will play a crucial role in the organization’s information technology department. Your primary responsibility will be to support and maintain the company’s hardware, software, and network infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT team members, end-users, and management to ensure smooth operations and a secure computing environment. The role may involve a combination of technical support, troubleshooting, system administration, and project-based tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Provide timely and effective technical assistance to end-users, including hardware and software troubleshooting, system configurations, and problem resolution.
Network Management: Monitor and maintain the company’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN), including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections.
System Administration: Administer and maintain servers, including operating system installations, updates, patches, and user account management.
Software Management: Install, configure, and update software applications across the organization’s infrastructure.
Hardware Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of computer hardware components, such as workstations, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
Security: Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s data, network, and systems from unauthorized access and potential threats.
Data Backup and Recovery: Perform regular data backups and develop disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss in case of system failures or emergencies.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, or network connectivity in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, processes, and configurations.
Project Support: Assist in the planning, implementation, and deployment of IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology integrations.
User Training: Conduct training sessions for end-users to enhance their understanding of hardware, software, and IT best practices.
Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to recommend improvements and optimize the organization’s IT infrastructure.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Min. 1 year of experience required in IT department
Proven experience in IT support, network administration, or system administration.
Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, G Suite).
Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Familiarity with hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with end-users and team members.
Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft MCSA) are a plus.
