Summary:
We are looking for a technical and experienced Enterprise Cloud Architect with strong expertise in infrastructure core services and Linux at high scale. A good understanding in infrastructure automation and understanding of SAP System architecture would be beneficial. You need to be able to perform technical PoCs, engineer and create new services, understand and stabilize the architecture of existing infrastructure services as well as drive critical projects across various teams. The technical focus of your work will be on core infrastructure services like admin proxy servers, LDAP, DNS or Active Directory. You will help to drive further automation and enhance the majority of this critical services by introducing new tools or designs. Due to the criticality of this services, high availability needs to be ensured together with seamless monitoring. As we are running these services in high-scale automation in provisioning should be further improved. With a DevOps mindset you will also build the bridge between Architecture and Operations teams.
You will have a chance to directly shape and contribute to the overall Enterprise Cloud Services strategy.
Role:
As Enterprise Cloud Architect your role will be to support the team from a technical expert perspective. Driving critical organization wide projects, creating, testing and implementing technical blueprints and driving the rollout as well. You will work on a technical level but need to be able to organize and structure work across teams. The rollout of new designs and technologies to the operational teams is an important part of your work.
Due to the complex nature of the ECS environment we have many dependencies, and it is expected that you are able to perform hands-on tasks and are able execute technical engineering exercises.
A strong focus will be on enhancing and renovate the architecture of our core infrastructure services (DNS, LDAP, AD) by designing and introducing new technologies and ensuring high quality through automated testing. You will benefit from a good understanding of cloud infrastructures, IT infrastructure services and a solid knowledge of Linux.
Due to the central nature of the team you will have many touchpoints and good collaboration skills are required as you will be a key contributor in nurturing the technological progress in ECS.
Role Requirement
Proficient in conception, implementation and further development of core IT infrastructure services like LDAP, DNS, DHCP or Active Directory
Extensive work experience on above mentioned services at high scale
Very strong understanding and hands-on expertise on Linux (preferred SUSE / RHEL)
Strong understanding and hands-on expertise with infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform / Ansible / Chef / Saltstack)
Good knowledge in SAP solutions / SAP system architectures
Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server
Expertise in creating technical documents and concepts
Experience with designing high availability solutions
Experience in software development methodologies (CI/CD, Github)
Technical knowledge of container technologies (Docker / Kubernetes)
Technical knowledge of public cloud providers like: Azure, AWS, GCP (certification preferred) in the context of infrastructure service
