MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
Technology in Customer Development plays a crucial role in ensuring we deliver on competitive growth through our growth fundamentals of Improved penetration, Fuel for growth and Design 4 Channel. In Unilever, business and technology teams have delivered leading edge capabilities for CD function across Demand generation, capture and fulfilment. This position plays a pivotal role in strategy, design, delivery of critical CD agenda, in close partnership with business and Global teams.
JOB SUMMARY
This role is one of key roles for IT CD Global Business Partner and Innovation. It involves supporting Capability Development and business engagements in the IT-Customer Development function for LeverEdge CoE as a part of the Distributive Trade business. The role will be ensuring that the people who work for Unilever and Unilever’s partners in the market have the best possible technology and information is a vital element of the efficiency and effectiveness required to win in the marketplace
This role is responsible for managing global and regional relationships within the Distributive trade space, ensuring that fit for purpose solutions and capabilities are captured, gaining a deep understanding of business requirements and championing the value of IT and the program. The role is accountable for solution deployment quality from initial business engagement, business case to deployment and timely rollout of affordable and sustainable IT business solutions at acceptable risk to ongoing operations.
Identifying and developing a business case along with the market for a successful deployment of the solution and rollout of the program
Influence the development of the Customer Development functional strategy ensuring that relevant opportunities are considered and ensure that these opportunities are aligned/included into IT Strategy
Scanning and benchmarking against external best practice (with S&T) to ensure that the CD IT strategy remains optimised
Own Product / solution for one CD IT solution.
Maintain the Requirement funnel for the Product and ensure it gets delivered as per the agreed roadmap with respective market.
Own End to end product roadmap and detailing out the backlogs.
Define and sign off the product requirements and design roadmap pertaining to owned product/solution.
Understand the business processes to develop and deploy a change management model to be successfully executed to business process changes wherever applicable, in partnership with the markets and global business.
Manage and plan the program and project timelines, identify risks and deliver program within the budgets confirmed.
In the ideas phase providing support to Business Partners in driving clarity of business requirements, high level design, cost and time estimates to facilitate the production of high-quality charters
Working in close partnership with Release Management and with Programme Directors to ensure on-time and on-budget execution of application deployment of the changes and programmes
Identifying and managing IT Risks and Issues relating to Product.
Managing the proactive communications with the relevant leadership team covering major program updates
Build and provide resource to deliver the relevant IT Roadmap for deployment.
Responsible for all processes in the product /solution ownership space.
Responsible primary contact for the countries
Product ownership:
Own Product / solution for one CD IT solution.
Own End to end product roadmap and detailing out the backlogs.
Define and sign off the product requirements and design roadmap pertaining to owned product/solution.
Understand the business processes to develop and deploy a prioritization model to be successfully executed in the solution from both solution backlog and business process changes wherever applicable, in partnership with the markets and global business.
Business Process Expert
Identify and respond to the country’s business process changes and requirements with best practice and program scope suggestions.
Works with CD community, to ensure maximum improvements are made in the business operations as groups of projects deliver their products into operational use.
Program Delivery:
Responsible primary contact for the countries
Plans, organises and carries out consultancy assignments alone, or leads a team of consultants
Initiates investigation and development of innovative methods of program delivery to the benefit of organisations and the community.
Initiates and influences relationships with and between CoE/CoP/Process Office
Plans and directs process improvement projects, ensuring the smooth integration of new business processes with organisational structure and culture.
Ensures initiatives are set-up for success by advising on project and programme governance. Leads the IT components of the project through idea phase ensuing a smooth handover to innovation and ensure an on time in full deployment and rollout with the markets.
Budget and Business Engagement:
Handle the budget for the Product Pipeline Delivery.
Develop strong relationships, with stakeholders in BP, ES IT Service, S&T, with business owners and Process Offices, with strategic suppliers and 3rd party IT service providers
Work with other Innovation Managers and CD stakeholders to build and maintain a strong governance process for the program to ensure high quality project and programme delivery
Understand and interpret IT strategic architecture, ensure all projects follow the principles, guidelines and standards set out by Unilever’s S&T
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Business Partnering or account management experience
Knowledge RTM GT processes and IT solutions in area of responsibility (ideally with experience of having managed the relevant business process)
Experience in project management
Experience in building and managing teams in a diverse and extended environment
Strong appreciation of the processes and challenges facing the relevant function being partnered
Experience of managing external service providers delivering projects and support
Experience of working at a management role in the relevant business function.
Deep appreciation of IT systems landscapes and impact of architecture decisions on quality and delivery
Financial awareness and understanding of TCO models
Experience in the Application Development Life Cycle
