We are looking for a Networking Engineer that will join our team. As part of this dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to progress your career across the Networking Domain.
Responsibilities:
Support our customers to guide them through any difficulties in their environments when they look to VMware for assitence
Work closely on troubleshooting analysis and reproductions of our customer issues to help drive faster resolution of their technical requests
Achieve your VMware Certified Professional qualification within your first six months
Help create great documentation while building out our knowledge articles to deflect and help our customer’s issues while sharing that knowledge to empower our customers to resolve issues on their own
Collaborative thinking and working within the teams to deliver a faster resolution of our customer’s issues while sharing that knowhow that assists our global teams in building better knowledge in those teams
Regularly attend your team’s technical training to further build your knowledge
Work with your team’s senior engineers, both locally and globally to share ideas and better collaborations that will drive better learning across our centers
Deliverables
Delivering analysis of virtualization and identification of errors in those systems to ensure that production-impacting situations are quickly identified, ensuring customers’ enterprise environments are back in production without delay
Recommending configuration requirements to administrators, senior system engineers, IT cloud engineers and design IT Architects to guide and help in the design flaws and breaks in their environments
Continually finds faults in security and environmental networking components that put administrators and their large complex environments at risk of serious impacts and potential major business outages
Work with other vendors across the globe to help our customers with their specific needs
Work with some of the biggest institutions to solve their outages and ensure we meet our service level agreements
Focus on customer satisfaction by working towards the customer’s issues with great communication and urgency, as appropriate
Requirements:
Experience in providing Unix/Linux technical support to enterprise customers.
Networking: Understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols including switching technologies, routing fundamentals, IP subnetting, routing, firewalling, load balancers, VPN, and network design
Experience designing and/or supporting large enterprise deployments
Hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX based operating systems including strong CLI skill set and working knowledge of general system and network troubleshooting tools (e.g. WireShark)
Good practical working ability with Linux/UNIX utilities, including editors and command shells.
Ability to work with a global team for the betterment of our customer
Must be self-motivated and hard working
