We are currently looking for a Manager, IT Development as this will be key to the simplification of the system and workflow choices we make in our new integrated environment.
Role: Manager, IT Development
Location: Chennai
Responsibilities
Defining and contributing to the scope of a Minimal Viable Product which feeds into a set of feature requirements in the product backlog.
Working with the Enterprise Architect to ensure that the overall design and approach is optimal for that product / project phase, and that any impact assessment on the longer term software architecture is understood and documented.
Ensure that as a standard deliverable for all products that appropriate data flows and integration points for software are documented and kept up to date, in line with the Enterprise Architect’s standards.
Working with the Release Manager to ensure that products are released to integrate together meaningfully.
Working with the Design/Test Manager to define and integrate the testing for the product.
Working with the Validation Manager to define and integrate the validation for the product.
For new products, major implementations or integration with 3rd party systems, ensure that a risk assessment is done of the project, including impact on data integration, data quality, performance, controls.
Communicating sprint planning and progress with the other software managers as appropriate.
Working with the other software managers and engineers where requirements impact more than one products and/or development team. Taking Ownership for quality delivery of same.
Defining the scope of features within the context of each release/delivery.
Defining the deployment required to meet pilot and production requirements.
Managing and growing development tools and processes required for meeting the product requirements:
Raising issues to management where they affect deliveries early in the process so that impact assessment can be made by management and the relevant stakeholders.
Maintaining a high enough view to enable identification of improvements and efficiencies and work with management to effect change.
Ensuring that there is a good understanding of the wider business application of the products that ADS develops, and where there are opportunities to add value through further innovation or improvements of product in line with the IT Business Partner/Product Owner
Technical control of the Software Development Life Cycle for one or more products
Providing additional governance to Coders/Testers to ensure that Product has the appropriate Quality assurance coverage (System, Integration, Performance, Security, Automated).
What you need:
Minimum IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering related degree or equivalent with at least 12 years relevant IT industry experience.
Should be currently in a Technical Manager role for 2+ years.
Has an Excellent knowledge of relevant industry standards, technologies and products.
Excellent understanding of Agile development and project management approaches and principles.
Technical Skills: Expert working knowledge in multiple technical areas and strong working knowledge of multiple technologies. Has expert knowledge in own a technical domain(s).
