The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Your responsibilities

Provide Level3 technical support for global customers of Hitachi Energy for any escalations or queries related to Bay Level Products – Relion Series IEDs especially Busbar and Generator Protection Relays

Technically supporting external customers as well as our own organization

Conducting technical investigations and root cause analyses

Making sure that all reported cases are well handled in a professional way

Managing customer cases in a common database with priority and response time

Close cooperation with sister engineering / development units in other countries

Building relations and providing great customer service on a high technical level

Your background

Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of experience, preferably in Electrical & Electronics

Good knowledge about Power system, protection, and control

Proficient in Numerical IEDs, Electromechanical & auxiliary relays (preferably RADSS, REB500)

Hands-on experience in software configuration tools like PCM600, HMI500-REBwin

A couple of years of experience from a similar role

Background in Substation Automation and commissioning is meriting

Familiarity with the IEC 61850 standard is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

Fluency in English
